  1.                   1.   How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My product used and challenged the conventions. It included bright colors just as any other pop music video would. I also included close ups during the beginning of the video and made a narrative for the whole music video. I challenged some of the conventions as well. I didn't focus on performance at all. I focused more on the narrative for the music video.   2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?   I engaged the audience with my product by having my actor sing towards the camera. What this did was, it made the audience feel as if the actor was speaking towards them. It made them feel as if the actor was speaking to them through the lyrics of the song. This would be distributed as a pop music video.  3.  How did ...

My music video

During the making of my music video, I have learned so much about filming and editing. Before I started this project I did not know much about editing projects. I learnt how to embed my own audio in the project. I feel as if I was never introduced or told to do this project, I would have probably still have no clue how to complete that process. I also became more creative during the making of this project. I was limited to many things during this project. I did not have as many props as I thought I would. I also did not have many costumes for the music video. This forced me to start thinking creatively. In the end it all came together nicely. I also was forced to change half of my storyboard. This also improved my creativity. There are so many things that I would have done differently. One of those things that I would have done differently is film further away from the actors face. I wanted to capture more of the gardens background while filming my actor. I also would have wanted ...

Editing Blog: Making a few changes

Image
Looking at my music video, I felt as if it wasn't enough. I thought it was to boring and plain. So I went back and made a few new changes. The first change I made was adding a title. Since I had a lot of empty scenes in the beginning of my music video, I took that chance to add a title. I simply put the title of the song in the first scenes. It added a nice and flowy look for my music video. Before I made these changes, the beginning was just trees and the sky. Adding the title of the song to these scenes gave more meaning towards it. The next change I made was within the transitions. I reviewed my music video and the transitions were bold and sloppy. I wanted my music video to appear more neater so I made some changes. I used transitions like fade because it allowed the scenes to smoothly change. Before I used a transition that had a white screen appear before the next scene would. I found this a little bit to bold for my music video. The song is so smooth and soft. I want the mus...

Editing Blog: Matching the films with the audio

Image
During the editing process for my music video, I came across so many obstacles. I first starting by reviewing the shots I took. I realized that some shots that I took was not angled in the landscape angle. I thought about reshooting the whole thing. I was going to shoot on the next coming day. Then I realized my phone allowed me to change the video from portrait mode to landscape. After I fixed the angles of each video, I decided which ones were going to be in the music video and then imported them onto my computer. Next, I started with the audio which was difficult for me to set up. I didn't know what to do at first because it was my first time uploading my own audio to a project. Then I decided to upload it using a MP3 music downloader. I took the link from YouTube and pasted it on the music downloader so that it could upload onto my computer. After I did this I added it to my project through files. Now that I had my music I started to set up each film piece to the right part of...
